Balloon Sinuplasty

Patients suffering from chronic sinusitis can be treated using Balloon Sinuplasty. The technology uses a small, flexible sinus balloon catheter to open blocked sinus passageways, restoring normal sinus drainage. When the balloon is inflated, it gently widens the walls of the passageway while maintaining the sinus lining.

What is sinusitis?

Also referred to as rhinosinusitis, sinusitis is when the lining of the sinuses becomes inflamed. Sinuses drain through small openings into the inside of the nose. Anything that blocks the flow may cause a buildup of mucus in the sinuses. The blockage can be infectious or non-infectious.
